Introduction

The Strategic Planning Division (PG) is responsible for coordinating and formulating the Ministry’s position on key national policies and directions, particularly for the Five-Year Malaysia Plans and the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, as well as the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) Strategic Plan. To achieve this, PG is tasked with developing and managing a comprehensive and systematic database for the Ministry.

As the Ministry’s Focal Point, PG is responsible for establishing the Ministry’s stance at both the national and international levels through various platforms involving the Ministry and central agencies.

The coordination between strategic planning functions and the parliamentary and cabinet secretariat has strengthened the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for policy formulation related to security and public order. This functional integration enables PG to take the lead role in developing, coordinating, and monitoring the implementation of policies and action plans at both the Government and Ministry levels. PG is also responsible for planning and coordinating various major programmes, whether at the national level or within the Ministry.

PG has become the central hub for collecting important and strategic data related to MOHA through the Data Science Centre, and conducts analyses on this data to assist in setting the direction of MOHA’s key policies. PG also functions as a Centre of Learning (CoE) for MOHA in the areas of knowledge development, learning, and training in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
