Private Agency Unit

To issue a decision letter for new licence applications for security control agencies within one (1) month from the date the complete application is received.

To issue a decision letter for renewal applications of security control agency licences within one (1) month from the date the complete application is received.

To issue a decision letter for applications to establish new branches and expand operational areas of security control agencies within one (1) month from the date the complete application is received.

To issue a decision letter for security screening applications of security guards within three (3) months from the date the complete application is received.

To issue a decision letter for applications involving restructuring/appointment of board members or shareholding restructuring within one (1) month from the date the complete application is received.
Licensing and Screening Unit

To issue a decision letter on appeals related to the ownership, transfer, carriage, use, retrieval, and variation of firearm licence terms under Section 30(4) of the Arms Act 1960, within five (5) months from the date the appellant’s file is received from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

To issue a decision letter on applications to establish a magazine (explosives storage facility) under Section 25 of the Explosives Act 1957 within one (1) month from the date the complete documents are received from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

To issue a policy decision letter on applications to hold fireworks and pyrotechnic displays within fourteen (14) working days from the date the complete application is received.

To issue a policy decision letter on applications to import scheduled weapons under the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Ordinance 1958 within one (1) month from the date the complete application is received.

To issue security screening decision letters for the following within three (3) months from the date the complete application is received:

Visits to restricted countries;

Appointment of Securities Commission officers;

Applications for overseas work assignments of two (2) years; and

Property acquisition by foreign nationals.

Preventive Law Unit
- To issue a decision on preventive law cases within sixty (60) days from the date of detention.
Deradicalization Unit
- To manage and certify the rehabilitation status of detainees or restricted persons whose orders will expire in the following month, before the meeting of the Detainee Assessment Committee.
Inquiry Unit
- To complete investigations of cases under the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985 within fifty (50) days from the date of detention.
