Film Censorship Certification

Processing Applications and Issuing Film Censorship Certificates

Purpose

Each film that has been viewed and censored by the Film Censorship Board (LPF) and found suitable for public screening will be issued a Censorship Certificate (Certificate 'A'). For copies of the film that will be screened and distributed to the public, a Copy Censorship Certificate (Certificate 'B') will be issued.

General Requirements

* Statutory Declaration for Certificate Application
* A copy of Certificate 'A'

Fees

A fee of RM1 per copy (tape) is charged.

Processing Film Censorship Applications

Purpose

All films, whether local or foreign, must obtain approval from LPF before being distributed or screened to the public. Each film viewed and censored by LPF and deemed suitable for screening will be issued a Censorship Certificate (Certificate A) within 3 weeks.

General Requirements

* Film Censorship Application Form
* Film Permit
* Original film (master) for censorship viewing

Fees

Censorship fees are charged in accordance with the Film (Censorship) (Fee) Regulations 1984. The total fee is subject to the duration or length of the film.
