Firearms Appeal
Any individual whose application for firearm ownership has been rejected by the Inspector-General of Police may submit an appeal to the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs through the following methods:
a. Submission via an official written appeal addressed to:
Secretary of Division Security and Public Order Division Level 10, Setia Perkasa 1, Setia Perkasa Complex Federal Government Administrative Centre 62546 PUTRAJAYA
All appeals must be submitted within thirty (30) days from the date of the rejection letter issued by the Inspector-General of Police.
For applications rejected by the State Chief of Police, appellants are advised to submit their appeal to the Inspector-General of Police within thirty (30) days from the date of the original rejection letter.
The main categories for firearm ownership are for the purpose of protecting crops from pests or threats, safeguarding personal safety and property, or for sporting activities.
Firearm ownership is not an individual right. Each application will be considered based on the eligibility and necessity of each case.
Appellants must attach current and relevant supporting documents when submitting an appeal to the Ministry.
