Firearms Appeal
Any individual whose application for a firearms license has been rejected by the Inspector General of Police may submit an appeal to the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs at the following address:

All appeals must be submitted within thirty (30) days from the date of the rejection by the Inspector General of Police.
In the case of a rejection issued by a State Chief Police Officer, you are advised to submit your appeal to the Inspector General of Police within thirty (30) days from the date of the original rejection.
The main categories for firearm ownership are for crop protection, self-defence and protection of property, or sports purposes.
Firearm ownership is not an individual right. Each application will be evaluated based on eligibility and necessity on a case-by-case basis.
Appellants are required to submit updated supporting documents along with their appeal to the Ministry.
